Liberia: ‘Crusade 2022’ takes on prostitution, homosexuality and secret societies
John 8:32 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

For scores of Born Again believers who previously attended a crusade hosted by Evangelist Christian Dagadu, there are two key things they all can attest to. Surprise! Change! That means, people have to get ready for the unexpected as the Holy Spirit moves; that people never go back being the same as they came in.
And one such moment came Thursday, Day #3 of his church CHRISEM’s ongoing New Year’s crusade bearing the Theme: “Let My Destiny Live and Not Die!” There was no topic too tough for the world’s evangelist to discuss. Rev. Dagadu brought into the open, from prostitution, homosexuality, to sexual immorality among wedded couples.
He described all of the above plus many more, as being the result of moral decadence pillaging today’s Liberian society and strongly warned young people, especially boys against engaging in such acts which he argued are no less repugnant before our Heavenly Father, Almighty God for which He can punish his people.
As he spoke before a large crowd that had gathered at the Stephen A. Tolbert Estate Football Field in Gardnesville, scores of mothers with babies strapped to their back, stood firmly on their feet, exhorting the Lord and waving into the sky. Soon, people began to perspire, tremble, and the next, some started yielding, and collapsing under the power of the Holy Ghost as prayer warriors hurried to bring them to the altar.
Pastor Dagadu also cited female secret societies as well as other fraternal groupings in the country and explained that people enter into “blood covenant” with the dark world through “sacrificed” meal or “food” they initiates “eat” while in such environment which eventually ties their own destiny to the underworld i.e., “marine spirit” or “water spirit”, unknowing to themselves.
As a result, such things become “curses”, affecting initiates for a lifetime and the only means by which people can be liberated, he said, is through vigorous prayers and the breaking of such curses over their lives. The smooth-spoken Dagadu drew his Thursday notes from Gospels that included Colossians 6, and Ruth 1. His presentation took a teaching form rather than preaching.
The Gospel of John 8:32 places great emphasis concerning the need for people to know the truth and be set free from bondage: “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Concerning his own background, Evangelist Dagadu revealed that because he and his wife came from a “dominic background”, they both experienced terrible hardship at some point in life to the extent they had to turn to burning charcoal for some 15 years (a demeaning job), in order to survive.
He asked his elder son to stand so the audience could see him, and said the boy and his siblings at the time came to know what hardship looks like.
“We had to stay with God; stay under God; stay inside God; be in God’s hand for God to fight our battles.”
Pastor Dagadu later led the crowd to recite a declaration that consisted of prayer points and sinner’s prayer over their personal lives.
Among evangelists featured by this year’s crusade include Apostle Samuel B. Carr, Bishop Shadrack R.A. Bryant and Bishop J. Allen Klayee. The crusade is hosted by Christian Evangelistic Ministries Inc. of Liberia (CHRISEM), founded by Rev. Dr. Dagadu and his wife, Rev. Precious Dagadu. The crusade ends Jan. 16th in the capital but continues in five counties.
On Day #2 of the crusade, Bishop Shadrack R.A. Bryant took the podium and scolded the audience not to keep their eyes on worldly matters or things he referred to as “temporary”, which may perish but that they should press on “for the comfort of Heaven.”
As for Apostle Samuel Carr, on Day #3, he narrated personal struggles in life just like other speakers and encouraged people in the crowd who might be experiencing problems to hold onto God and remain strong, saying “No one can change your story, only you can change your own story.”
CHRISEM’s musical team was joined by other choirs from churches participating in the weeklong city crusade. Liberia’s leading Gospel singer, Sister Florence Balleh Koiboi was present and often led the group into exhortation before the sermons.
