Liberia: Evangelist Christian Dagadu off to D.R. Congo for big crusade
By James Kokulo Fasuekoi|Editor-Publisher
Liberia’s well-known evangelist Rev. Dr. Christian K. Dagadu, today left the West African country for Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to participate in a mega church revival set to attract some 25, 000 people.
One of the largest meetings to be held in decades in the DRC, a part of Central Africa, often plagued by war and political upheavals, this crusade runs from June 2nd through June 17th, according to the host agency, Global Impact Center that invited Rev. Dagadu.
The meeting, according to Rev. Mcnay Nkashama, head of the U.S. based Global Impact Center-Minnesota, would officially kick off June 4th at Kinshasa’s Centenaire Cathedral in the capital, bringing together about 13,000 delegates from across the country.
Rev. Mcnay told Global Ekklesia phase II of the revival runs from June 6-8 in the country’s historic Port City of Matadi, in Congo’s central province. This is the city in which “the heart of David Livingston is buried” said Mcnay, which adds significance to the crusade.
David Livingstone was one of the first white missionaries to tour this part of Africa, teaching the Word of God and after his death, surgeons extracted his heart, and it was buried in Matadi in order to fulfill his wish.
By June 13-15 the meeting would return to Kinshasa again, followed by what Global Impact Center calls a “PENTECOSTAL IMPARTATION SERVICE” for Christian leaders, a conference meant to provide pastoral training for local pastors.
About ten pastors and bishops, including Congolese-born American Rev. Mcnay Nkashama (who leads the U.S. delegation) will depart America tonight for the Kinshasa Crusade where they will meet Rev. Dagadu, the only invitee from Liberia.
On his way out this afternoon, Rev. Dagadu, head and founder of Christian Evangelistic Ministries Inc, Liberia, posted fresh photos of his departure to his Facebook page, following check-in at the Roberts International Airport in Margibi.
The post soon attracted attention from his numerous fans in and outside of the country, and in less than an hour, it had received 74 Likes plus 54 Comments.
The smooth-talking evangelist seemed upbeat about his trip, as he briefly spoke to Global Ekklesia, days ago.
This would be his first trip to the Congolese capital, Kinshasa. He had been to the country’s eastern city of Goma before that once hosted one of the world’s largest refugee camps amid a war.
In a sermon two weeks ago Dr. Judy Fornara, founder of the Brooklyn Center based Spiritual Life Church/Bible College & Seminary, spoke of the gifts and anointing she said God has place on Dr. Dagadu’s life.
Dr. Judy Fornara who once thought Dr. Dagadu Biblical Theology at the college said the man of God often “changes into another man the moment he steps to the altar and the next thing people would be falling, as he moves with hundreds of women following him” during deliverance at crusades.
Pastors Dagadu’s church conducts a nationwide crusade in Liberia every year and has done so for over 25 years. He and close to a dozen pastors just concluded this year’s tour of the nation and returned to the capital, Monrovia, few months ago.
For the Kinshasa crusade, also refer to as “meeting”, Pastor Mcnay said cabinet officials of the DRC government, members of the parliament, the “militaire” [military] plus the police are expected.
Editor’s note: We mistakenly reported initially that the president of Congo has in the past attended Global Impact Meetings. However, many of his cabinet officials, including those in the provinces of the country have attended past crusades hosted by the organization. We regret the error.
Global Ekklesia is following the crusade in Congo.
