Celebration of Rev. Abba Karnga’s 95th birth anniversary in pictures

Born April 5th, 1930, Rev. Dr. Abba Grogro GbidiDein Karnga served as a career classroom teacher, working with Liberia’s Firestone School System for many years in what’s now Margibi County. As a young Christian evangelist, Abba Grogro GbidiDein Karnga got hired by ELWA (Eternal Love Winning Africa) Radio Station, a local Christian Radio station where he worked as Bassa Language Radio Producer. However, he later moved with his family to Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County, and founded World-Wide Missions Church of Liberia after receiving his Calling from the LORD. On Saturday, April 5th, families, friends, admirers, children and grandchildren, as well as some government officials, and President Joe Nyuma Boakai, all gathered in Buchanan City and joined in the celebration of Dr. Karnga’s 95th birth anniversary. Dr. Karnga was showered with birthday gifts from people far and near. Special gifts also came from his own thirteen children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There were also individuals’ and groups’ testimonies, including one from Liberia’s President Joseph Boakai Sr., plus a recorded birthday message by Deacon Leta Riddell from Resurrected Life Community Church, USA. Rev. Karnga’s wife for 69 years, Rev. Mother Eileen W. Karnga sat by the nonagenarian side throughout the program. Mother Eileen Karnga, known also as “Maa Karnga,” is a faithful servant of God, and a defender of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, just like her husband. She’s founder of some of Grand Bassa’s leading Bassa-Language Gospel choirs and runs a church she established on the eastside of Buchanan City. Text & Pictorial by James Kokulo Fasuekoi
