Minnesota: Spiritual Life Church founders pray for Ekklesia’s editor, wife as they head to Liberia

Noted U.S. Gospel preacher, Prophetess Dr. Judy Fornara, who has traveled to over 120 nations performing God’s Kingdom works, did something special Sunday, April 19, 2026, moments before she walked to the pulpit to give her sermon. She called out Bro. James and Sis. Martha Fasuekoi for prayers as the couple prepared to travel to the West African nation of Liberia where both would continue mission works.

Prophetess Dr. Judy Fornara, founder of SLC/Minnesota Bible College & Seminary, stands here with Bro. James and Sis. Martha, Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Spiritual Life Church in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Dr. Judy has traveled to more than 120 nations (this is in exception to 41 trips to Isreal alone), preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Prophetess Judy led a group of SLC’s elders and senior pastors and offered prayers over the couple, praising both James and Martha as “faithful servants” of God before the church’s congregation, admonishing them to join SLC/Bible College affiliates in Liberia, such as Christian Evangelistic Pentecostal Church (CEPC) of Rev. Dr. Christian Dagadu Sr. in helping spread the Word of God in that part of Africa.

SLC/Minnesota’s deep love for Liberia and its people brings Dr. Judy and her husband Dr. Joe Fornara to Liberia each year during which they participate in Gospel crusades organized by Dr. Dagadu’s CEPC. In this last January picture, Ekklesia’s editor Fasuekoi, SLC/Minnesota’s Ellena K. George and a friend, pose with Dr. Judy Fornara alongside Dagadu’s family at CEPC’s Bushrod Island Headquarters.

James has been away, mainly in their native Liberia, for much of the past years, heavily involved with humanitarian works as well as helping set up a project. He and Martha have been full members of Spiritual Life Church of Minnesota since 2017. They attended SLC’s Bible College there, graduating January 2024, with Martha earning certificate while James received an AA Degree in Biblical Theology.

James is an experienced newspaper journalist who covered brutal civil wars in West Africa, mainly in Liberia and neighboring Sierra Leone during the 90s for The AP and Liberia’s first post-war independent newspaper, The Inquirer. He’s the editor-publisher for Global Ekklesia, an online US-based Christian news magazine which he has been publishing from Monrovia, Liberia, since 2024.

The couple holds a deep passion for serving the LORD God, and even offered to work for free for SLC/Minnesota but the church’s founder Dr. Judy insisted they get paid as other staffers of both the church and the Bible College/Seminary. James worked in multiple capacities serving at one point as a janitor, Libran and the college’s online assistant tech while Martha worked with the children’s ministry.

Martha, an intercessor, made her first Gospel mission to Israel in October 2017, with the church’s team led by Dr. Judy and her husband, Dr. Joseph Fornara. This was followed by James’s first Gospel mission as well which took him to Liberia along with both Dr. Judy and Dr. Joe, plus two other U.S. based bishops in 2018.

An intercessor and children’s ministry worker, Mrs. Martha Fasuekoi achieved one of her lifelong dreams of visiting the Promised Land in Oct. 2017. In this photograph she dips her hand in the Dead Sea.

Simply called “Pastor Judy” by most people, Dr. Judy moves in all NINE GIFTS of the Holy Spirit and her school or Bible Seminary, located in Brooklyn Center, Minn., is among leading bible colleges in the United States and now offers up to Master’s and Doctorate degrees with branches now in Liberia.

Dr. Judy and Pastor Joe first set foot to Liberia in the middle of war in October 1992, just when ex-guerrilla leader Charles M. Taylor tried to overrun the capital. Judy and Joe decided to stay-a period expatriates and missionaries were forced to leave the country-even traveling into war zones and praying for rebel commanders and child soldiers who were headed to the frontlines.
