Christians throughout the world yesterday celebrated Jesus Christ’s triumphal entry into the Jewish capital of Jerusalem.

His heroic arrival to the Holy City marked the “beginning of His suffering, death, and resurrection,” meant to set all of mankind free from perpetual bondage.

Accounts of four Gospels of the Bible, Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-44 and John 12:12-19, gave a powerful insight of how the Messiah descended from the Mount of Olives as He entered the city.

According to all four Gospels, multitudes of people “lay their clothes on the ground to welcome” Jesus Christ of Nazareth as others waved palm branches.

“Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” they shouted.

All along the Messiah sat on a young donkey and perhaps, waved back to the crowds in response to their greetings.

In Minnesota, for instance, scores of African immigrant and multiracial congregations observed Palm Sunday through the singing of hymns and jubilation. Many churches in Liberia also celebrated the event the same way.

Most of Sunday’s preachers drew their sermons from one or more of the following Gospels, John, Mark, Luke and Matthews.

Most worshipers wore the color Green, or at least fabrics bearing a Green color in order to symbolize the occasion. Some Christians posted photographs of themselves to social media, waving palm branches.

In most Sunday children Bible schools or services, kids took time to color sketches of the Messiah sitting on a donkey.

Global Ekklesia’s news crew visited several churches here that participated in the festivities; Faith Chapel Evangelistic Ministry of Robinsdale, MN; Spiritual Life Church of Brookly Center, MN and Ebenezer Community Church, located in Brooklyn Park, MN.
