Teaching our kids to follow proper dress code
We live in a world today that has pushed “fashion” to another level. Sadly, Christians too, appear to be giving into such temptations, thus prompting the following questions: Is there a good or bad way to dress, especially for God’s children who are made in His own image to be Kings and Queens? And is God really interested in how Christians dress? The answers are all yes! Part of the answer, for instance, is found in Exodus 19:10 when the LORD instructed Moses to sanctify the children of Israel before His arrival: “And the LORD told Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Have them wash their clothes”(NIV). In our contemporary history, there has never been the need for Christians to pay close attention to the way they dress than now. Like Little Andrews’ parents, Christians must strive to give two important gifts to their children-first, we must lead them to JESUS, and second, let us teach them proper dress code. By doing so, let us-especially women-set an example at all times for the kids to follow.
