Minn.: Over a dozen infants dedicated to God

In a world plagued by disorder or confusions, at no time in the life of mankind has Godly upbringing of children become so urgent than now. For Christians, getting your newborn dedicated to God can be the first step!

Spiritual Life Church of Brooklyn Center, MN, today continued its tradition of dedicating newborns to LORD Jesus Christ and prayed that God should lead their respective parents to bring them up in a Godly manner. At least 13-14 babies were taken to the altar and christened.

Families gathered before the altar today with their children waiting for their babies’ dedication ceremony.

Infants dedicated to the LORD this morning included Hezekiah Sylla, born last October 17, in Minnesota to a Liberian family, Bro. Emmanuel Sylla and Sister Neona Sylla, both of whom are devoted Christians and active members of SLC. Sis. Neona is with the choir while Bro. Emmanuel operates the TV. camera.

Little Hezekiah caused a stir, prompting applause from the audience the moment the church announced him-close to twenty people showed up at the altar to celebrate and stand with him. He stayed calmed, smiling in the arms of his father who hails from Montserrado County, Liberia.

Although there’s no direct scriptural reference concerning child-christening, infants’ dedication to Christ has existed in Christian churches throughout history. The idea is meant to encourage the congregation to join the child’s parents in raising him or her up in a Godly way, as cited in Proverbs 22:6, among other verses; writes JKF
