A special thank you note for a birthday shout out!
How grateful am I to be alive and see three-scores, and still heading on, through the Grace of God Almighty! For many of my peers from childhood days were not so fortunate to come far. New York Bishop, Pastor James Barnard Sumo, who happens to be my childhood brother and grew up with us in Lofa, is a witness.
But surviving childhood was just one phrase. Making it through a bloody African tribal war(s) in the 90s (for more than a decade), was another! Many of our people including close relatives, friends and journalists perished either via starvation, disease, or bullets. And one can only imagine what could have possibly happened to me, traveling for ten years, with eight different guerrilla factions in Liberia alone, if not for God’s Grace! Glory be to our God!
Without much to add, let me say a special thank you to all of you who wired me birthday greetings and wishes on my natal day-whether face-to-face, via messenger or social media. I also thank those of my friends and relatives who remembered me at heart or forgot altogether that March 15th is my birthday.
The following names below are among people who gave me a birthday shout-out; my wife and I, plus our family shall always keep you in our hearts. May the PEACE of God be with you all. They include pastors, diplomats, businessmen & women, college students, journalists, authors, teachers, professors, actresses, social activists, church sisters and community leaders.
