Liberia: Church leaders extol Global Ekklesia publisher for good work
By Our Staff Writer
Most career-journalists the world over spent much of their life writing about ordinary and great people, including presidents and kings but rarely received recognition for their fine works they leave behind on earth that create lasting memories. But the Dagadus of Liberia are totally different!
On June 30th, during their church’s Happy Father’s Day program, both world’s evangelists Rev. Dr. Christian Dagadu, Sr and his wife Pastor Precious JL Dagadu, separately praised Global Ekklesia’s editor and publisher, Mr. James Fasuekoi for his fine job of spreading the Gospel of Christ Jesus worldwide.
Moments before Dr. Dagadu started his sermon he called out the publisher who stood before the huge congregation, and praised him, saying, Mr. Fasuekoi has been diligently following their Christian Evangelistic Pentecostal Church’s (CECP) national crusades and publishing about them.
He spoke highly of Mr. Fasuekoi’s works at home and abroad over the years, the editor’s dedication to preserving statehood, as well as roles the international journalist and author, per the request of the U.S. Government, played during those internationally well-publicized 2017, 2018 war crimes trials of two main Liberian ex-warlords and rebel commanders, in Philadelphia.
Since the Global Ekklesia debuted almost three years ago, this publication has extensively covered church events particularly in Liberia, and the Liberian Community in the U.S. from regular worship service to church anniversary, child’s christening and adults baptism.
Similarly, the Ekklesia, in spite of long distance, continually reported most of CEPC’s crusades in recent years including those held in Monrovia, Nimba and Maryland-Liberia. From the church’s livestreams Global Ekklesia was able to do several news features its March crusades in Sanniquellie and Saclepea when the crusade team was confronted with what seemed a spiritual warfare!
Pastor Dagadu told his congregation that the U.S. college from which he (Dagadu) recently received his second degree in Biblical Theology had turned over his graduation materials, including a gown, sashes, plus credentials to Fasuekoi who brought them along.
The distinguished West African clergyman Rev. Dagadu had initiated arrangements for his travel to the United States of America in order to participate in his Spiritual Life Bible College/Seminary Doctorate Degree 2024 graduation program but didn’t make it due to some unexplained reasons.
Rev. Dagau is one of Liberia’s renowned evangelists whose CECP is among a very few Christian Ministries in the country to run a Deliverance Ministry which caters to people suffering from traumatic past experiences or whose lives have come under demonic attack. He had traveled to the U.S. over a dozen times and did physically receive his Master’s degree in Theology in Minnesota in 2016-17.
With his graduation materials at hand, an excited Dr. Dagadu told his congregation recently he would now go ahead and march, and receive his latest doctorate degree at a special ceremony the church will organize soon.
Mr. Fasuekoi, a quiet and shy-looking fellow had gone to the church with two of his little nieces and first took a backseat, close to the main entrance of the huge edifice but he was soon recognized by ushers and was requested by the CEPC’s co-pastor and Mother Rev. Precious Dagadu to go and join the pulpit guests and pastors.
The church presented the Christian journalist with a gift of flowers and a souvenir handkerchief that bears the church’s inscription. He was also pinned with roses by some of the church’s women including Mrs. Angel Dagadu, the daughter of the Dagadus, whose wedding last January made headlines in Global Ekklesia.
