At the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, amid the chaos and hopelessness which engulfed the entire world, Sis. Martha Fasuekoi’s family faced a tragedy of a different kind, not COVID. However, as is usually with every storm in life-be it physical or spiritual-she and her husband had to stay focused and ride out the storm but through Jesus Christ. For about a year, both turned away from social media, changed phone numbers, and communicated mostly with only pastors, relatives and friends who were in constant prayer with them. In it all, Sis. Martha made a solemn vow to Almighty God that she would someday invite ministers of the Gospel to join her family and celebrate God’s Goodness if the LORD could let the storm pass on. On Saturday, October 14, 2023, Sis. Martha fulfilled her pledge after almost four years. Martha, husband, as well as their relatives in the U.S., some of whom came from as far as North Dakota, Pennsylvania and Florida, got together with pastors and their spouses from the Twin Cities to celebrate and honor Yahweh. The colorful event happened at Spiritual Life Church in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. From their testimonies, the couple learned a couple things during those trials: (a) That one needs to personally know Christ (The Word) as his/her Lord and Savior before tragedy or trial strikes. (b) That you pray and ask God for a direction in the event of a trial. (c) Pray to have a loving family that can support you in your darkest hours. (d) Above all, pray to have a prayerful family to stand in the gap and pray for you. Meanwhile, the couple wishes to extend special gratitude to everyone for sharing in their joy.Below is a special pictorial from the ceremony captured by famous Liberia’s award-winning News Photographer & Freelance Photojournalist, MOZART M.
